The Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau maintains pipes and structures that can withstand most earthquakes. However, due to the damage caused by earthquakes and typhoons, pipes may break and water cannot be supplied to people who have no power. When that happens, the Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau will supply water via trucks until the water supply is restored. As seen in the photograph, the emergency water supply tower is used to supply the trucks with water so that it can be delivered to citizens.
